Great Help

Posted by LCGrainger on 10/25/2009

I had surgery last week and had a friend come by who accidentally let my dog out. I was in huge cast and the technician at my house from Hiller went out to look for my dog. He found my dog and brought him back home to me. It was so nice of him to do that for me and to help out like he did.

I needed a 14 ft pipe moved under my deck. It currently feeds my BBQ grill. Holes are pre drilled through the foundation. I priced the materials at 65.00 to do it myself. Hiller bid to move / replace this pipe is 704.00. I also had to pay them 49.00 to give me an exorbitant bid. I called and talked the management. I told them that I had this pipe run originally in 2001. It cost me 125.00. I told Hiller that I understand that prices have increased over the years and I was willing to pay $250 to $300. Hiller plumbing said that was an average and they would work backwards from that standpoint. This is how I see it. Materials = 65.00 to 100.00 Labor = 604 to 639 Labor rate = 3 hrs =201.00 to 213.00 per hour. As you can see these rates are outrageous. I will give credit to Hiller because they called and they are returning my initial fee. This is a warning to all consumers. Get three opinions. I have received my third bid and the work will be done for $300.00.

Had a drain clog on Friday night and called Hiller the next morning. Chris showed up the next day right on time and called 30 minutes beforehand. After digging to locate the main pipe we discovered that the pipe was located on the other side of the house. Chris worked with us as we dug up the yard and locate the pipe, eventually accessing the pipe and freening up the clog. At the end of the day, after 4 hours of hard labor, our bill remained the flat rate earlier quoted to simply free the clog. No extra charges or fees. Unbelievable service and honesty, will recommend to anyone. Thanks!

Scheduled an appt with Hiller Plumbing and electric a few days ago bc my heater wouldn't go over 64 as the temps outside went below 20. I chose to schedule appt with Hiller bc I went to their website and it made me laugh. It seems the problem started when I scheduled the appt through their online appt scheduler. This morning at 0730am a woman from their office called to tell me that they needed to schedule my appt. I explained I already had an appt and got and email confirmation on my appt. She then stated that they didn't see I had scheduled online util this morning and they were already booked up. No apology given.. at all. Half asleep I did reschedule for the next day but didn't have to wait that long. Called LEE heating and Cooling company... they worked me into their schedule and got my issue resolved quickly. Guess Hiller Co needs to re-evaluate their online appt setting software or the people who are suppose to be checking the appts. Lost my business for good. LEE company not only got a maintanence pack out of me. They are quoting me on a second unit for my remodel, some electrical, and some plumbing too. LOL. HILLER lost out in more than one way. PEACE OUT!
